Hi, I’m Kayla.
I was born on the 13th of February, 2010. So Iβm 15 right now. Iβm the first daughter of three and I’d like to think I’m the glue that holds my family together (Other than my parents, of course).
I come from a moderately strict/religious background which kind of prevents me from doing a lot of things. For example, I donβt have a phone or any form of social media. No SnapChat, TikTok, Instagram or anything like that. It makes me feel a little left out.
A lot of the times, I miss out on my year group’s drama and just everyday things they get to talk about.I guess the boredom really got to me because here I am… writing a blog that a lot of people probably wonβt ever see. My parents think this method of parenting prevents me from getting myself into forms of trouble. I mean, theyβre right for the most part but as they say: The stricter the parents the sneakier the kids ( I donβt know a single person who says this though)
A few of my preferences.
My favourite color is pink. or white. Incase you couldn’t tell. It depends on my mood, I also like yellow, blue and possibly even lilac. I canβt really say what color suits me best considering Iβm a reasonable brown shade but I wear a good amount of darker colors when it comes to dressing.
I donβt have a particular reason why, I just donβt wear a lot of bright colors, except on special occasions. My wardrobe comprises of greys, blacks, navy blues and browns. I donβt think I have a particular style. I just wear whatever I can put together in my wardrobe. Iβve always had an eye for fashion but when it comes time to buy the clothes, my pockets start looking funny…
Parents
I wouldnβt say I have a favourite parent. They both serve very different purposes.
My mom is more of my best friend when it comes to telling her secrets or just talking to her about the little things that happen throughout the course of the day. Sheβs my go-to when I need quick results. Iβd say I spend more time with her bc her personality is very bubbly, warm and accepting.
My dad, however, is the more reserved, put together type. I go to him for things I need long term. Like a phone but according to him: I βdonβt need one yetβ. Sure I donβt. I canβt say I spend a lot of time around him even though we have our moments. He can be playful sometimes when he chooses to be but heβs a quiet thinker whoβd rather enjoy a good book with a cup of tea.
I love both my parents equally regardless of their differences.
School life and Friends
Iβm currently still a student of a pretty good school. I have a couple good friends. I’m not exactly popular and I’d like to keep it that way. Anyways, I get along with most of my friends but three of them really stick out to me. One of them Iβve known since I first joined and the other two I met along the way.
Thinking about it now, I kinda see why Iβm friends with them. They all have this confidence I really admire. Theyβre funny and charismatic in their own way. Itβs kinda hard to choose who I prefer because they all have their pros (and cons). I donβt think iβve had friends like them before. Theyβre pretty cool people. Yes, sometimes we have random fights here and there but thatβs what makes our friendship special. Weβre not exactly a friend group. Like I said, I have a couple of good friends. Those are just my faves. My ride or dies (not actually dying for any of them, though)
